Job Summary

As part of Makita’s Creative Services team, under the guidance and direction of the Creative Manager, the Video Producer is responsible for the creative and visual production of quality, branded content. Video projects will include product launches, product videos, interviews/user testimonials, event coverage, and any and everything in-between. This position requires a well-rounded skillset to manage scouting, storyboarding, scripting, scheduling, and shooting in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. Makita is looking for talented individuals with ambition, vision, and technical prowess to help innovate and move the brand forward.

Skills, Experience and Education

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in film, television, entertainment, or related industry.
  • Extensive experience handling professional video, sound, and lighting equipment with a sound understanding composition and lighting setups.
  • Extensive experience with Adobe CC film/editing software such as Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, and fluency with other Adobe CC graphics programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Familiarity with equipment and studio rentals as well as permits, waivers, and other required documentation.
  • Animation, motion graphics, and photography skills are a huge plus.
  • Familiarity with drones and drone license/certification is a plus.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with Brand, Marketing, and Product Management teams to manage production schedule for product videos, special events, and campaigns.
  • Maintain a strong pulse on current and upcoming visual and marketing trends in the U.S. market and be able to translate them into brand-appropriate solutions.
  • Develop storyboards and scripts based on guidance from Brand and Product Management teams to create compelling visual storytelling and elevate the brand experience.
  • Comfortable with staging complex scenes, impromptu setups, and directing and working with talent on set.
  • Ability to translate feedback from project stakeholders into meaningful direction and quickly provide forward-moving solutions.
  • Manage and prepare final deliverables/assets for output across various channels: website, social platforms, dealer sites, presentations, and more.
  • Travel will be required.

Language Skills

  • Excellent English reading, writing, and verbal skills.
  • Spanish reading, writing, and verbal skills are a plus.

Reasoning Abilities

  • Must be able to evaluate and interpret stakeholder needs/wants for a project and justify creative/visual decision making to produce the best overall solutions for the brand.

Physical Demands

  • This position is required to sit for intermittent periods of time with occasionally being required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, or reach.
  • May require working extended and/or irregular hours.
  • May require lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling equipment or boxes up to 75 lbs.
  • May require exposure to work environments with to loud noises, debris, hazardous materials/chemicals, etc.
  • May require assembly of and hands-on work with power tools, accessories, and related materials.
