Senior Marketing Manager - DACH

The Senior Marketing Manager - DACH will be responsible for designing and driving marketing programs and activities in specific verticals in the DACH region to build pipeline.  Acquia is a high-energy, hard-charging, high-performance company! Our Senior Marketing Manager needs to be a marketing rock star, an analytical and strategic thinker with a creative mindset and the strength of character to excel in an energetic atmosphere. Will need to have excellent attention to detail, be well organised and an effective cross-functional communicator. Candidates must also be flexible and have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and be able to handle multiple projects with tight deadlines.

Key Objectives:    

  • Drive the DACH marketing strategy for key verticals to meet required pipeline objectives and penetration of target accounts in alignment with the Regional Sales GTM strategy
  • Drive new and creative marketing and lead generation activities including email campaigns, events, direct mail programs, paid advertising, paid search, social tools, webinars, research, content and collateral, as well as customer case studies
  • Create, execute and manage partner marketing programs in alignment with the EMEA marketing strategy and supporting specific DACH partners on delivery of local programs and events
  • Track and analyse the effectiveness of marketing campaigns to determine ROI and prioritise resources and communicate this clearly to leadership
  • Be the go-to person for the industry focused sales team in all matters of marketing, ensuring all marketing program details are effectively communicated and supporting the field sales team with local prospecting and lead maturation activity
  • Oversee budget, metrics and marketing spend ROI
  • Clearly set expectations and establish accountability for deadlines with all related cross functional teams involved with program development and execution
  • Manage PR and Communications for specific key verticals, working with a third-party agency to identify key opportunities for brand awareness and exposure, increasing Acquia’s voice in the DACH region

Skills/Attributes:

This is a multi-disciplined role, giving broad exposure across all areas of marketing. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of achievement, proven ability to learn quickly on the job and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Previous experience of driving and generating pipeline through the following:

  • Multi-channel, lead generation, direct marketing campaigns including email, paid search, website management, online advertising, list rental, syndication, and guaranteed lead campaigns
  • Developing, executing and managing webinars
  • Customer engagement programs
  • Events including trade shows, conferences and self-run executive programs
  • Cooperative Partner marketing initiatives
  • Strong project management skills and experience, including managing external agencies    
  • Proficient in MS office applications
  • Salesforce.com  (or similar CRM) and marketing automation (ideally Marketo) experience is mandatory
  • Experience with sales operations, reporting, marketing & campaign dashboards and KPIs   
  • Analytical and results orientated individual in tune with revenue marketing principles
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent writing skills to earn the trust and respect from peers and sales management
  • Must possess a passion for learning industry-leading marketing tactics and best practices
  • Builds a deeper understanding of trends through development of industry relationships
  • Effectively builds and leverages vendor/partner/customer relationships, building comprehension that aids in anticipating needs, and eventually expanding business and brand reach overall
  • Knowledge of the Web Content Management sector, Open-Source technology or of marketing to a ‘digital’ audience is preferred
  • Ability to craft great collateral and structure and write compelling copy
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders in a fast-moving environment
  • Develops strong internal and external relationships, anticipates needs in order to provide high level of service/quality 

Basic Qualifications:    

  • Marketing or business graduate with strong experience working in digitally led B2B or technology marketing role   
  • Must be a self-starter that thrives in a fast-paced work environment
