Stairway is a digital personal tutor for STEM subjects 

We are on a mission to enable anyone to have access to effective and enjoyable education.

Stairway was founded by recent students, who are extremely focused on creating a great product to address the specific challenges faced by students today, through a combination of a great product and content 

We are looking for an experienced Full Stack Developer to help us scale our existing web application to students around the world! 

You'll be a valued member of the Product team, with a large amount of input into ideating and planning new features, along with the technical infrastructure to support a fast-growing consumer product 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage well-functioning databases and web applications
  • Write effective APIs
  • Build features and applications with a mobile responsive design
  • Work alongside product and design teams to deliver a high-quality product
  • Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency
  • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software
  • Write technical documentation
  • Help to cultivate a strong engineering culture as we grow

Requirements

  • Experience with Python, Flask and React.js (at least two of three)
  • Experience working with databases
  • Proven experience as a full stack developer or similar role (preferably in a management position)
  • Experience developing responsive web applications
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • Organizational skills
  • An analytical mind
  • Experience working alongside a design team to implement design specifications using HTML, CSS and React.js
  • Care deeply about education, and improving the educational experience for students
  • Focused on delivering the best user experience to students using Stairway

Salary: £50k-£65k based on experience and equity compensation
